Martin was born in Hudson NY and spent much of his childhood and adolescence in Barrytown, Rhinecliff, and Rhinebeck. After graduating from Bennington College with a degree in music, Martin led a successful music career in New York City, where he got his real estate license to supplement his freelance work in the arts.
Martin worked for 8 years on Brooklyn rentals, but when the pandemic hit, he found that a number of his friends from both the Hudson Valley and Brooklyn were suddenly looking to buy homes near where he grew up. Given Martin's insider knowledge of the area, he decided to move his real estate work into sales around his extended home turf of Dutchess, Ulster, Columbia, and Greene counties.
With a breadth of professional experience in the music industry, in hospitality, and in retail, Martin has seen customer service from many standpoints, and understands how to work with all kinds of people. He also has a unique perspective on the dual lifestyle of splitting time between NYC and the Hudson Valley, as a valley native who built his professional career in NYC.
Martin is a lover of live music, museums, galleries, and great cuisine of all backgrounds. He is also interested in advocacy for safe-streets initiatives that make cities and towns safer for pedestrians and cyclists. He will be happy to listen to your housing needs and ensure you find the perfect home to fit your lifestyle.
