I was born and raised in New York City, but I've lived in the Hudson Valley since I moved to Woodstock as a young musician in 1980. Since then, I have raised a family; pursued a career as a musician and then as a music historian; published three critically acclaimed books; served in town government as a planning board chairman, and after that, as the president of the board of the Poughkeepsie Day School.
In 2010, my partner Lisa and I moved to the "other" side of the river, renting and eventually buying a house in the hamlet of Livingston, just outside of Hudson, where we are closely involved in the thriving local arts community. (Lisa is a well-known abstract painter and a professor of art at Hunter College.) Since then, we divide our time between our apartment in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and our place upstate.
Several years ago, I began a second career in residential real estate, working first with a large corporate agency, then with a small local agency, and now with TKG, which for me represents the best of both worlds, combining the broad scope and services of the one with the personalized approach of the other.
Whether working with buyers or sellers, I take great satisfaction in helping my clients to determine their own needs, familiarize themselves with the market, and find what they are looking for, before shepherding them through the process of buying or selling a home with as little drama and as much confidence as possible.
We are an independently owned company, with the mission of offering the highest level of service to our clients. We focus on the needs of our agents by providing them with the most up-to-date tools and technology, freeing them to focus on their buyers and sellers.
