Welcome to Catskill

A village where artists rise to fame

Catskill is a village in New York’s Greene County and is located in a larger town also called Catskill. The area sits on the Hudson River and has Catskill Creek flowing through the center, but it’s also known for the picturesque Catskill Mountains.

The area now known as Catskill was purchased from the indigenous peoples in 1678, and the town was established in the year 1788. Initially a part of Albany County, the area would eventually become the county seat of the new Greene County in 1800.

The homes in Catskill come in a variety of styles, including Colonial, ranch, and farmhouse. The area is not one of the more expensive towns of New York, so prices are more affordable, sitting at around $289,000. This roughly translates to $172 per square foot, an adequate price in New York.
